Improving Path Network

Recreation, Environment, Access, and Leisure

These four principles are not only at the heart of the charity, but also at the heart of the path network.

In conjunction with Douglas St. Bride's Community Group and Douglas & Angus Estates, the REAL Group have agreed to act as lead organisation to progress the Paths Network Project.

Douglas West Community Woodland

The group cut back branches and making the trails more accessible for walkers and riders at the Community Woodland, Douglas West. We then used our chipper to get rid of the piles of branches, and some were used to make wildlife shelters. The mulch was given to a local resident and a donation was made to the group which was donated to Macmillan Coffee Morning at St Brides Centre on Fri 27th Sept.

Annual path maintenance around Stable Lake

The group maintains the paths surrounding Stable Lake annually, with weedkiller to stop overgrowth on the paths, and filling in the massive potholes that appear.

Installation and Repair of Benches

The group has repaired and installed many benches throughout the village, and with your support, we hope to be able to continue doing so. Supporting us by attending fundraising events such at Gig in the Grounds means we are able to continue doing many of these smaller projects.
